Content Creation: PCA&D Center for Creative Exploration Certificate Course

In this online class, you will learn how to create content for the social media space, including platforms such as Facebook, X (Twitter), Threads, and Instagram. An emphasis will be placed upon the importance of reaching your target audience and building engaging content for your community. In addition, this course will explore principles of branding, social media marketing, content strategy, and SEO. We will dig deeper into the platforms and concepts discussed in SM 101, Introduction to Social Media Marketing, as well as cover new material designed to give a deeper understanding of online marketing and communications. This course will be taught for both brand and personal brand perspectives.

NOTE: Synchronous class time will be from 6pm-8pm. 8pm-9pm is reserved for asynchronous course work.

Social Media Best Practices Workshop

In this in person workshop, we will review best practices and tactics for various social media networks, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. We will look at what makes them different, identify their audience profile, review how to approach each in the way that makes them most effective, and focus on how this knowledge informs your social media strategy. This workshop is for all levels–from those who are new to social, to those who want a deeper dive into the platform landscape.

Social Media Marketing: Instagram 101 Workshop

In this online workshop, we will take a deep dive into how to manage an account and capture engagement. This workshop will cover topics ranging from the Instagram feed and algorithm as well as elements of the platform including Stories, Live, and Reels. Instagram 101 is great for those who are new to the platform, as well as for others who would like a more in-depth look at strategies and tactics for growing your audience.

This workshop will occur in Google Meet at 10:00 am. The instructor will record the workshop and this recording will be available in the Google Classroom along with all class documents and supplemental materials for student reference.

Introduction to Social Media Marketing

This course is offered for credit virtually at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design.

Social media is an excellent way for businesses and brands to reach their audiences and build awareness and trust. The space can be tricky and overwhelming to navigate, but with the right plan, strategy, and tactics you can find your community. In SM 101 Introduction to Social Media Marketing, students will learn what social media means for businesses and brands in 2024, how it is used by modern marketers, and ways to develop and execute a strategic social media plan amid a complex and competitive social media environment. This course is great for those who are new to social media and social media marketing, as well as those who are looking to advance their skills in best practices, strategy, and execution.

Students should be prepared to engage live in Google Meet from 6 to 8 p.m. every Thursday, with the first meeting occurring asynchronously.
